How much does it cost to play tennis in Jacksonville?

Short answer: Public courts are cheap: a City of Jacksonville adult annual complex pass runs about $100, daily play about $2.50. Leagues typically cost $30 to $40 a season.

Tennis in Jacksonville is one of the best values in Florida sports. Most people pay for three things: court access, competition (leagues, ladders, tournaments) and coaching.

Court access

The City of Jacksonville runs staffed complexes like Southside Tennis Complex and Boone Park. Their published annual passes (October to September) are roughly $100 for an adult, $75 for seniors 60+, $175 for a family and $24 for juniors, with daily play around $2.50 for 90 minutes. Jacksonville Beach Tennis Center charges more, around $250 a year for residents. Neighborhood park courts are free.

Competition

Flex leagues, where you schedule your own matches over about eight weeks, usually cost $30 to $40 a season. Round robins and drop-in socials run $10 to $20. One-day tournaments typically cost $35 to $50 for singles. USTA leagues also require a USTA membership (about $44 a year for adults, free for juniors).

Coaching

Group clinics and cardio tennis run about $12 to $20 a session. Private lessons are commonly $60 or more an hour.
