Questions and answers
Everything players ask about joining, prices, matches and rankings. Short answers first.
Getting started
How do I join Rally Jax?
Create a free player profile at rallyjax.com/join. It takes about two minutes: add your name, pick your level (or take the level quiz) and you can enter any event right away.
Is Rally Jax free?
The player profile is free. You pay only when you enter an event: $35 a match, or $30 as a Club Member.
What level do I need to be?
Any level from NTRP 2.5 to 5.0. Each event lists the level range it is built for. Not sure of your level? The free level quiz at rallyjax.com/level gives you a starting NTRP in a minute.
Do I need a USTA membership?
No. Rally Jax events are independent and open to everyone with a free profile.
Where in Jacksonville are matches played?
At public and partner courts across Duval and St. Johns counties, including the Beaches, Ponte Vedra, Mandarin, San Marco, Riverside, Southside and the Northside. Each event page shows the exact court.
Prices and match packs
How much does a match cost?
$35 on a free profile, or $30 for Club Members. Matches are sold in packs of 5: $175, or $150 for members.
How do match packs work?
Buy a pack of 5 matches. Each event entry uses 1 match (the event page shows the count). Your balance shows in your account and unused matches stay there for your next event.
Is the Club Membership worth it?
Yes if you play 8 or more matches a year. The membership is $40 a year and saves $5 on every match, so it pays for itself after 8 matches.
Are court fees included?
No. Most matches are on free public courts. Where a staffed facility charges a court fee, you pay it at the facility and the event page says so.
Can I get a refund?
Cancel more than 72 hours before an event and the match goes straight back to your pack. Unopened packs can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Weather cancellations always return the match. Full details at rallyjax.com/refunds.
Playing
What if it rains?
Storms in Jacksonville usually pass quickly, so matches are delayed first and rescheduled if needed. You get an email if anything changes, and a weather cancellation always returns your match.
How do I find a partner or opponent?
Use Find a partner at rallyjax.com/partner to see players near your level who are looking for a match, or enter an event and we match you.
How are scores reported?
After a match, one player reports the score from their account and the opponent confirms it. Confirmed scores update both ratings right away.
What types of events are there?
Flex leagues, ladders, round robins, tournaments and junior events, for singles and doubles. See the calendar at rallyjax.com/events.
Ratings and rankings
What is a Rally Rating?
An Elo-style number that goes up when you win and down when you lose, by more when you beat a stronger player. Everyone starts at 1500.
How often do rankings update?
Right away. Every confirmed match updates both players' Rally Ratings and the public rankings at rallyjax.com/rankings.
Can I keep my profile private?
Yes. You can hide your profile from the public directory in your account settings.
